Psychiatric Evalution
The purpose of the psychiatric evaluation is to get an in-depth understanding of what brings you to reach out for support from a mental health professional. I will ask about different symptoms, your history of mental health treatment, and current goals for treatment. If you initiate medication, follow-up medication management appointments are monthly. If you are not already in psychotherapy, I always recommend psychotherapy as part of treatment.
Medication Management
As a board certified Psychiatric NP I specialize in psychiatric treatment for a range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, complex trauma, and ADHD. Medications are often useful to enhance the benefits of psychotherapy. Our medication management sessions will also explore additional strategies that will improve your mental health symptoms.
Psychotherapy
Alongside medication management, I provide psychotherapy where we will explore the depth of your emotional struggles and discover pathways to healing. You deserve to feel better and live a meaningful life.
Fees And Insurance
I take all insurances under Optum including Oxford, United Healthcare, Oscar and UMR. If you do not have any these insurances, I am happy to see you as an out of network client. I will provide you with an invoice with all the information you will need to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. We can discuss fees and the process for reimbursement during the inital phone consultation.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens on the phone consultation?
The initial phone consultation is a brief and free consultation about what brings you to reach out for support. I will provide you with an overview of my practice and answer any questions you may have about my services.
How do I know if I need psychiatric services?
It is hard to know what may help and a psychiatric evaluation is a good way to get evidence based recommendations on helpful interventions. While this can include medication recommendations, I may suggest other interventions to try before starting or adjusting medication.
